ROV Switch

Batteries and equipment in the marine and offshore industry must have a function to be switched on under water. SubCtech’s solutions for this are different switches:

  1. Simple magnet-switch: ignition switch integrated in body housing
  2. ISO-standardized ROV-Switch

ISO ROV-Switch

SubCtech offers ISO 13628 underwater switches, which are operated from standardized tools on ROV manipulators.

A clear design, labeling of the switch setting and a clearly visible signal lamp simplify work for the ROV pilot immensely.

The offshore industry certified the ROV-Switch as a standard product and accordingly uses it mainly .

Specification

  • Rotary low-torque switch, magnetic coupled, no pass through
  • Follows ISO 13628-8:2002-12
  • Operating torque 75 Nm
  • Control light for “on” or “off”
  • Operating depth of up to 6000m

Description

SubCtech developed a switch that meets the requirements of the offshore industry and is handled via ROVs. The switch was developed corresponding to the ISO 13628-8:2002-12 (E) Petroleum and natural gas industries - Design and operation of subsea production systems - Part 8: Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) interfaces on subsea production systems.

ROV manipulators arms with normed “low-torque” tools operate the low-torque Rotary switch. The switch setting is clearly visible marked.

The ROV pilot controls the running mode on a bright low-power LED display via a camera. The actual state of use can be signaled flashing or permanently.

The ROV switch can be rigged on the batteries directly or set in separately. The case depth is optionally 6000m.

The offshore industry certified the ROV switch as a standard product and uses it in big amounts.

Simple Magnetic-Switch

SubCtech offers a simple magnet switch integrated in the housing. Divers or a ROV pull a rope to get a magnet placed on a rack in “on” or “off” position.

Specification

  • Linearly operated magnetic switch, no pass through
  • Operation by diver or ROV
  • Simple installation and operation
  • Operating depth of up to 6000m

Options

  • Control light for “on” or “off” battery state
  • Special designs for your application

Description

SubCtech offers a simple ignition switch that gets attached on the housings for ordinary transports. The actual Power-MOSFET switch is integrated in the battery so that there is no duct. Divers or a ROV pull a rope to get a magnet placed on a rack in “on” or “off” position.

The switch setting is clearly visible marked. For instance, the ROV pilot can control the running mode via a video camera with the optional bright low-power LED display. The actual state of use can be signaled flashing or permanently.

The magnetic switch can be used in depths of up to 6000m.
