After the sucessfull serial production of the OceanPack pCO₂ measuring system and the PowerPack battery systems in 2011 the company SubCtech expended the production capacity. Due to the extension of the work shop and the laboratory the company has now the ability to manufacture standard “off the shelf” products as well as complete customized systems. In addition after the successful launch of the new exclusive by LI-COR Biosciences manufactured and by SubCtech adapted analyzer, the expended laboratory is used to optimize the new, fast and robust Flat-Membrane-Equilibrator.

Arne Lankisch, Head of Production: “For the engineering the latest versions of Eagle 6.0 and Solidworks^® 2012 is used and therefore, the manufacturing process is more efficient and Project work with our customers is even more simple and faster.”

Our proven Flat-membrane-equilibrator could be considerably improved in context of the cooperation with the HS-Bremerhaven in the program “Ocean Engineering”. The response time could be improved at 100% to a real T90 of 5.5 minutes, and a T100 of 12.5 minutes. The simple principle of the proven membrane cartridge (patent pending) will of course continue to apply.

conference Marine Resources and Beyond (MRB) provides a platform to discuss, share and exchange research outcomes and ideas with reference to these issues. The main focus of MRB is on the sustainable use of marine resources and to strengthen research and innovation in different sectors.

OceanPack AQUA: A new, Robust, Flexible and Cost-efficient pCO2 Analyzing and Monitoring Tool in Operation.
Through the cooperation with high-tech companies and institutes a new measuring system for fish-farming and aquaculture was developed and successfully tested. For the first time high-resolution measurements of pCO2 and nutrients such as ammonium in a high temporal resolution are possible. With this knowledge gained completely new scientific approaches for the optimization of processes are possible.

OceanPack: Robust, Flexible and Cost-efficient “Autonomous Underway Measurement System” in Operation.
Two highly different applications are discussed in a session chaired by David Hydes that treated  innovative underway technologies for modern platforms, such as the OceanoScientific® System: small portable measurement systems for sailing yachts and large measuring systems (FerryBox) for complex measurement tasks.

The specialist in aquaculture GMA-Büsum and SubCtech signs a contract for the installation of the innovative measurement system OceanPack/Aqua for the determination of water quality. With this new technology it is possible to optimize production and to measure the shortest cycles in several basins. For the first time high-resolution chemical, biological and physical parameters are detected, such as Ammonia, CO₂, pH, dissolved oxygen e.g.

SubCtech supports the Meereswettbewerb 2011 on the research and media vessel ALDEBARAN. The OceanoScientific^® Kit, based on our OceanPack/RACE technology for small boats and sailing yachts, will acquire oceanographic data such as pCO2. Pupils from whole Germany are invited to be introduced to the exploration of the sea. Have fun!
